spring break adventures

This last week has been full of fun times and cool
adventures! My friend Sara planned a really great week
of activities for spring break, my kids and I were lucky enough
to join her and her kids! Monday we started out with about a 4
mile hike to 3 falls in hurricane. Calista of course wouldn't
walk, so I carried her the whole way! She is getting soo heavy!
The weather was so nice last week so It was perfect to be
outdoors! The picture below is almost halfway, we took
a break and let the kids roam around the caves. Sara and I
together have 8 kids, plus a couple of sara's neice's and nephew's
came along too.

This is the end of the hike. The boys were pretending to be
cave men, so they look pretty barbaric! Over all this was a
really fun hike, we had a picnic about halfway through the
hike and it took a few hours to get there and back. The younger
kids were tuckered out, but they still had fun!
Wednesday we headed up to Zion. We originally were
going to do the riverwalk hike and go to the emerald pools,
but sara couldnt stay long cuz her son had scouts. So
we just ate lunch on the grass by the giant screen. We took
some pictures and went on a little walk by the river to kill some time
before our movie started. We went to Dinosaurs alive in 3D. All
kids all thought that was pretty cool! Even Calista sat through it!
She doesn't normally sit still for movies so I was pretty amazed!

Thursday we just packed a lunch and went to
the park to relax a little and let the kids play. Friday
we headed to Snow Canyon to do some more hiking and
explore some caves. We left earlier in the morning that day
so it was so nice, but it got pretty dang hot by the time we
started hiking back to the cars! Calista even did pretty good,
she walked on the way to the caves, but then I carried her
all the way back. You would think my arms would be super
strong after this week!

The cave was pretty cool, I had never been there
before. Its pretty sad that I have lived in southern
utah my whole life and had never been to Snow Canyon
State Park! We all had flashlights and made our way to
the bottom of the cave. After everyone sat down we had them
turn off all the flashlights so they could see how dark it was
in there. Zander was a little skeptical about it, but he did
great! We used the night vision on sara's camera and took
a couple pics in the dark. They turned out pretty good, since once
the flashlights were off, we couldnt see where the camera was.
I had a blast this week hanging out with sara, since we usually
only get to see each other on special occasions, this was
pretty amazing to see her 4 times in one week! Thanks for
inviting us!

GO LIONS!!

This last Saturday was Zanders' first Soccer game
of the spring season. They only had one practice before their game
so I was a little worried that they might have a hard time
understanding what they were supposed to do when they got out
there on the field. I was quite surprised to see they knew
exactly what to do! They knew how to dribble the ball and
steel it from the other team. They had a lot of fun and did so
well. They won 4-0! I am so proud of Zander! He loves playing
and tries so hard. He loves to practice so he should just keep getting better
and better. He also has a lot of friends on his team so I think
that helps. I can't wait to watch him play the rest of the season!

Tag's turn

I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while, but I just haven't taken
many pictures. We got our cute little dog a few weeks
ago, and she's been pretty good. Except when she gets bored
and decides to chew our drip system up in the backyard.
I guess you just expect that kind of thing with a young
dog, but hopefully she learns quick! Well for Valentines Day
BJ and I didn't do much with just the two of us, since my cousin
got married that day. We went to her luncheon at a place here
in St. George, Made in Brazil. It was soo good! I would recommend it.
Then we went to Kanab to the reception. Other than that we've
just been keeping busy with our basement. BJ and his brother
have been trying to finish up the frame work so we can start
sheet rocking. We have two bedrooms a bathroom and a storage
room left to finish. I can't wait till its all done! Hopefully this summer!
We have been shopping for new living room furniture since we
moved our tv to our family room downstairs we are short on couches.
It has been so frustrating! We have looked all over town with no luck!
Everytime we find a set we like, the loveseat is unavailable. So on
Monday we decided to try Stouts in Hurricane, and YAY I think we
finally found something! Hopefully by this weekend we will have
somewhere to sit in the living room and the family room!
Well since my post is called "Tag's Turn" I will fill you in on that.
I knew that since Zander took his training wheels
off, Taggart would be soon after. He was actually ready
when Zander was, but his legs just weren't quite long enough.
On Monday he finally decided he was ready. He is so smart
and such a fast learner! I am so proud of him!

Sadie

We got a new addition to our family this last weekend.
She is an American Staffordshire Terrier mix,
ya its a mouthfull! We got her from a shelter and she
is about a year and a half. She is such a cute girl,
and the kids absolutely love her! She is going to be
a great family dog, and we are so excited to have her!
We didn't get to pick her name, but it's okay. We
can live with Sadie.

FIESTA FUN!!

Zander celebrated his 6th birthday on January 9th!
Him and a few of his friends went to FIESTA FUN!
They had a fun filled day with pizza, balloons, arcade games,
Minature golf, bumper boats, and go karts!
Time has definitely flown by. I can't believe he is growing
up so fast, but at the same time is seems like ages ago
that he was a little baby and I only had one kid! Our lives
have changed dramatically since he was born. He is such
a wonderful part of our family, I can't wait to see how he
grows in the next 6 years. Hopefully that won't come to
quickly though! At the bottom of this post I added a video
of him when he was about 2 and a half years old. He had
been playing hard all day and came inside to wait for dinner.
He was sitting in his booster seat and got a little sleepy.
The backround noise is me cooking dinner so sorry about that.
He has changed soo much since he was 2!

Happy birthday & Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a good Christmas! BJ's birthday is on
Christmas eve, so every year we do a christmas/
birthday party with BJ's mom and his immediate siblings.
This year we had it at our house, which worked out
really well, since the weather wasn't so nice for traveling.
We got to stay home all day christmas day too! In the 8 1/2
years we've been married, this is only the second year
we have been able to do that! I loved it! It's so
stress free to just be able to relax at your own home
and just let your kids play with their new toys. I hope
we get to stay home next year. The day after christmas
we headed to Apple Valley to BJ's Dads to visit for a little
bit, then headed over to Kanab. The kids got to play in
the snow again and see their cousins. All in all we had a good
holiday! I am truly grateful for my family.
Happy Birthday BJ!!
All the kids got PJ's from Grandma Davis
on Christmas eve!Calista was getting mad, because her pajamas were
hooked together and she couldn't get them apart!Looks like Santa found us! Tag and Zander woke
up first around 7 and snuck out to see what Santa left
for them. Tag found his new cowboy hat and rope.
Calista was so excited to see this waiting for her!Checking out their stockingsThis present was bigger than Calista, so she had
to climb on top of it to unwrap it! It was so funny.BJ was super excited to get his riding boots for his
motorcycle! He wanted these so bad, and he was
going to order some before christmas, but when I told
him they couldnt order the one's he wanted in his size
he was really bummed. Little did he know, that I lied!!
I just told him that and ordered them later without him knowing.
So he was pretty surprised when he opened this present!Calista thought her toys bins were for her to hide in,
she would get mad if I put toys in it. She would just throw
them out and then climb in it.
Calista and her new table set, and her new baby doll.Tag and his Grandpa Hunt
My brother, Ryan eating my breakfast!! He stole
my plate! Can you believe that??
All the kids and Grandpa watching Wall-E
I don't even know how to spell that!
